Meet the Team

Since I was licensed in 2004, I have marketed and closed multi-million dollar property in Miami’s most exclusive neighborhoods, including Fisher Island, the Venetian Islands, South of Fifth, Coconut Grove and Coral Gables, among others.  I take great satisfaction in providing expert, personalized care for my clients in order to take them to a smooth closing.

    Recently, I have moved my license to Engel & Voelkers.  E&V offers a powerful global community of extremely seasoned and skilled real estate advisors in the world’s most desirable locations.

    Having worked both as a sales agent and managing broker (Opulence International Realty 2016-2017), I have a large network of colleagues and a deep bank of experience.  In the course of my 15 years in Miami real estate, I have written extensively about market trends, neighborhoods and our most interesting citizens.  Please have a look at my market report, “Magic City Magic Market” and the other interviews featured here in this website.

    Previous to real estate, I enjoyed a long career in the arts and hold both an MFA from Yale School of Drama and a BA from Vassar College.  I founded and ran a marketing and advertising firm, served as a Producing Director of a prominent Shakespeare Festival and taught theatre at the American School of Paris, …among other things.  I live south of Brickell in Miami’s historic South Miami Avenue area.

“I recently sold an open waterfront property.  I had owned the house for 20 years, quite a unique property on open bay front and a large lot.  I was going to sell as a “for sale by owner”.  At the last minute I decided to have Jill Patterson list the property.  It ended up being a good decision as there were many things I wouldn’t have thought of that Jill did.  I also underestimated the amount of time in working with various buyers and potential investors.  Photography:  Jill did a great job directing the photographer, even though he was a professional there were many things he would have missed in terms of staging and accentuating the strong point of the property.  Listing:  Jill did a much better job of writing the listing, highlighting the strengths and selecting the photographs that we used.  All with enough content, without too much.  Working:  The house ended up with hundreds of inquiry’s and multiple showings.  Jill did an outstanding job of working this week after week.  The house was on the market for six months, longer than I anticipated.  Closing:  When we finally arrived at some legitimate offers Jill, suggested we get our own appraisal and title search.  Both were excellent ideas for negotiating, and finally, closing.”
